Busy, busy, busy!

Whew, this month has been crazy. My motherboard on my laptop got fried, so I lost ALL my budgeting and debt pay down spreadsheets :( I got my new one Tuesday for my birthday, so I am trying to reconstruct everything. Hopefully I will have my Jan. update in a few days put together. My hubby got me the laptop, and I love it! My mom got me a Sony Reader, which is similar to a Kindle, and I am loving it so far. I had a bad night a week or so ago and cleared out a lot of our savings and sent it to Chase. I guess this isn't bad persay, but I was trying to accomplish savings goals and debt paydown goals at the same time. I think I am going to focus more on debt paydown than saving. Here is what I have in mind:
February:Chase 3 card paid off, cruise in May paid off, 150 to EF
March: Chase 2 at 1100, 150 to EF
April: Chase 2 Gone, 150 to EF
May: Chase 1 to 1000, 150 to EF, any extra can be cruise spending money
June: Chase 1 Gone, 150 to EF
July: 1150 to fund baby fund
August: 1000 to beach vacation in mid August, 150 to EF, 200 extra to BOA 2
September: BOA 2 to 1000, 150 to EF
October: BOA 2 Gone, 300 to EF, 300 to Christmas
November: 1500 more for Christmas, 150 to EF
December: 1500 to EF
If we accomplish this, four of our credit cards will be gone.
Our EF will be at $3550, barring an actual emergency
Our baby fund will be funded for start up items and medical expenses
I have lost 6 pounds so far, but kind of went wild for my birthday this week. I am trying to get back on track and stay motivated.
This has just been a rough month. We had a lot of unexpected expenses, one of my jobs has been horrid, and we have had family members hitting us up for money. I have no issue helping someone out who is actually in need, but when you ask us for money, then go to an AC/DC concert the week after we lend you the money and get the expensive seats (the one I would have loved to go to, but did not, so we could help YOU out), I get irked. Really irked.

  1. Wow I can't believe people actually have the guts to do that!!!! You should totally call them out and ask about the concert and make them feel all embarassed!!

  2. AP, you would be surprised at what some of our family members have the gall to do or ask! I never will forget when DH's mom asked us if we could 'donate' $200-$300 to help buy his 28 year old brother a car! Nevermind the fact that DH's brother is a pill popping pot head who has borrowed thousands of dollars from their father, who is on disability and in very bad health, and refuses to stop doing the pills and drugs long enough to take a drug test so he can get an actual, stable job.
